Deep foundation systems
Vibrex Piles
A foundation solution that transfers loads to competent ground.
Method overview
A foundation solution that transfers loads to competent ground.
Vibrex is a reinforced concrete pile system cast in place using a driven casing. The foundation solution is selected by assessing soil layers, structural loads, neighbouring buildings and site access together.
Cast in place
The pile shaft is constructed on site to the specified design length.
Load transfer
Structural loads are transferred to the bearing layers defined in the design.
Controlled execution
Driving, concreting and casing withdrawal are monitored together.
VIBREX
Installation stages
Site preparation and setting out
The ground report, pile layout and working platform are reviewed.
Driving the casing
A steel casing with a closed base is driven to the design depth.
Reinforcement and concreting
The reinforcement cage is placed and concreting follows the design details.
Withdrawal and completion
The casing is withdrawn under control; the pile head and construction records are completed.
Applications
- Deep foundations for industrial buildings
- Residential and commercial building foundations
- Infrastructure projects with suitable site conditions
Quality and site control
Driving behaviour, pile length, reinforcement and concrete volume are key inspection points. Vibration and noise effects are assessed against surrounding conditions. The scope of pile integrity and load testing is determined by the project specification.
Frequently asked questions
How does it differ from a bored pile?
Vibrex uses a steel casing installed by driving; a bored pile removes soil by drilling. Selection depends on ground and surrounding conditions.
How are diameter and length selected?
Ground investigation, structural loads, bearing capacity and settlement calculations inform the design. Dimensions are determined separately for each project.
Every sound project starts with the right foundation.
